Frequently Asked Questions about the Library

 

 

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR A LIBRARY ACCOUNT?

You can register online now through this form. Or, if the librarian is available, she can help you register immediately.

If you do not wish to register online, please fill out a printed copy of the registration form and leave it in the tray marked Registration Forms by the double doors. These forms can be found throughout the library.

1-2 business days after submitting the form, whether done online or by turning in the printed form, you will receive an email confirming the registration. The username (your last name) and PIN (your choice) will enable you to check out books using the self-checkout system in the library, and renew books, maintain your lists and reading history, and even make purchase suggestions, from your personal computer.

 

How do I check out books?

In order to check out books you first need to be registered as a patron (see above) and be in the library. If you are already registered and your registration has been activated, take your books to the self-checkout screen and use the barcode scanner to scan the barcode on the flyleaf, inside the front cover of the book.

Books can be checked out for three weeks. Shortly before the three week due date, you will receive an email informing you of that fact, and if the book has not been returned or renewed by the due date, another email will arrive to let you know that it is overdue.

 

How do I return books?

To return books, simply place them in the Returns Box by the printer. The library staff will check the books back in.

 

How do I place a hold on a book?

At the moment, we are not able to support the Hold system on books from our library. However, we hope to add that capability soon.

 

How do I renew my books?

You may renew your books once for an additional three week loan period. To do this, access your account (login with your last name and PIN) and then simply click on the box beside each book title and then click on the "renew" button below. The screen will tell you if you able to renew the book or if you have exceeded one renewal period and need to return the book.


How do I recommend books?

If you would like to recommend a book for purchase in the library, please use this online form.

 

How can I support the library?

You can support the library by donating books related to Christian study. If you would like to donate books to the library, please put them in the returns box (labeled accordingly). If there are a large number, and/or you would like a gift-in-kind tax receipt, please contact the librarian: Trish Owen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
