Sharon will serve as the Interim Director of Graduate Ministries as she completes her Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Spiritual Formation at Gardner Webb University’s Divinity School.
Sharon is founder of the Tapestry Group, a ministry focused on Christian Spirituality—taking what we believe as Christians and weaving it into the tapestry of our daily lives. Her work includes co-hosting a weekly Sunday radio show, The Satisfied Life on 107.9 in Charlotte, NC, leading contemplative retreats, keynoting business and church events, preaching, teaching and serving as a spiritual director with individuals.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Sharon began a successful career in public, (Duke Energy-17 year career-first female vice president-last position as Chief Communications Officer), private (Tanner Companies-President) and non-profit companies (the Lynnwood Foundation-founding CEO and President). She remains an active business leader as she currently serves on the Boards of three public companies: SCANA, Family Dollar Stores, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated and two privately held firms: Herschend Family Entertainment and Bama Foods.
She and her husband Bob have been married for 31 years and are the parents of four children (Rob, 25- UNC grad and internet marketer in Asheville; Matt 22-a junior at Wofford College; Abby 20 - a third year student at UVA; and Emily 15- a sophomore in high school.)
